About
The Jamra story
Jamra opened with eight tables and a single grill on Ismail Mohamed Street, with a simple idea: cook the food of Cairo, Damascus and Beirut homes, over charcoal and without hurrying.
We still light the charcoal by hand every afternoon, make the mezze each morning before the doors open, and bake every loaf to order. The table has grown — first the terrace, then the room upstairs — but the kitchen has stayed the same.
